It's been running fine for over a year. Late last week, we could no longer communicate with the drive with either the backup app (Retrospect) or Sony Tape Tools. In fact, Sony Tape Tools does not even show the controller. We do see the drive and controller just fine in Device Manger and we can even us NT Backup to communicate with the drive. If feels like something is preventing Retrospect and Sony Tape Tools from talking to the drive. No recent software changes or updates. We have updated the drivers for the drive and controller and Sony has already replaced the drive. Anyone with any thoughts? Thanks. Steve. Here is your calendar of upcoming I.T. training seminars. There's a lot going on at soundtraining.net. We've added new seminar dates for you in Seattle, Portland, San Diego, Sacramento, and Los Angeles. Look for San Francisco Bay Area seminar dates to be added shortly. Our new website is progressing nicely and will be ready soon (hopefully by next month). It's going to include a tech support forum for you, plus lots of articles to help you install, manage, configure, and troubleshoot your gear. It's even going to include enhanced profile features to allow you to customize your online profile and connect with other I.T. professionals worldwide. We're also in the process of upgrading our classroom equipment to ensure that you continue to have a great learning experience using the latest technology. Not only that, but look for new seminar topics coming soon. (In fact, if you have ideas of topics you'd like to see us offer, please send me an email.) See you in class! FSF executive director Peter Brown says, "We have a huge mountain of appreciation for SGI. It was really hard to explain the huge pain in the ass that this was going to cause the free software community. These licenses are vital to the code base of GNU/Linux, and I think that SGI has proven to be a fantastic community member. And, like Sun releasing Java as free software, this represents a huge gift to the free software community." http://www.linux.com/feature/148339 __________________________________ QoS - Quality of Service - Internet2 scientific testing results Conclusion In the U.S. today, the price of network capacity is low and falling (with the notable exception of residential and rural access) and the apparent one-time and recurring costs of Premium are high and rising (with interface speeds).
